Ekkehard Ernst is the Chief Macroeconomist at the International Labour Organization (ILO), where he focuses on the Future of Work, using scenario techniques and predictive tools to analyse labour market trends, skills development, and global labour costs. His research explores the socio-economic impacts of emerging technologies, inequality, and sustainability, with recent work addressing the COVID-19 crisis. Widely published in policy and academic forums, he is the co-founder of Geneva Macro Labs, a platform advancing solutions for global challenges and the UN Sustainable Development Agenda. Previously, he worked at the OECD and the European Central Bank and holds a PhD from the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales.
