Driving the Silk Road
with Douglas McWilliams
Douglas McWilliams, founder of the consultancy Cebr and recently described on Sky News as one of the world’s leading economists, is the only professional economist ever to have driven in the world’s most difficult and exciting car rally, the so called Peking to Paris Endurance Rally which was the MotorSport event of the year in 2019. He has written a book about it ‘Driving the Silk Road – halfway across the world in a Bentley S1’. Join him for an unusual and interesting presentation on his reflections on the rally and the economies that it passed through, particularly China and Russia.
